Meet Dr. Matthew T. Goslee

Matthew T. Goslee, DMD, MPH

I feel honored to be a pediatric dentist, and I love to work with kids and their families to help them with their unique needs. I am focused on prevention and helping with the specific needs of children so they may have a positive dental experience. I like being a pediatric dentist because it allows me to work closely with patients and parents, whether it is helping to solve a particular problem that improves quality of life, or teaching kids how to take good care of their smiles!

Education and Continuing Education

I feel lucky to be part of this dental practice and am honored to serve patients in the Bristol area. After graduating from the University of Connecticut’s School of Dental Medicine with my Doctorate of Dental Medicine, I completed a three-year specialty training residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. While at UNC I also received a Master of Public Health degree and served as chief resident in pediatric dentistry.

I use the newest techniques and materials in taking care of each patient and am always trying to improve the way I practice by taking continuing education courses in pediatric dentistry, pediatric medicine, and orthodontics. To stay current with learning, I am active with the Gnathos Study Club, an excellent orthodontic and pediatric dentistry continuing education group.

Experience

I am a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and currently serve as the Secretary for the Connecticut Society of Pediatric Dentists. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and am a member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Bristol Dental Society. I also serve as the dental advisor to many local daycare centers and pre-schools and volunteer at the Bristol Head Start/Bristol Community Organization. In 2009 and 2010, I was voted as one of the “Top Pediatric Dentists” by Connecticut Magazine.

I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel the world, helping people in need by providing much-needed dental care. I have treated patients along the Amazon River in Peru, and in Jeremie, Haiti during two dentistry outreach programs, and I would love to do this again in the future.

Outside the Office

I am originally from Cape Cod and grew up in Falmouth, MA. I met my wife, Julie, while in graduate school at UCONN Health Center, and we married in Farmington, CT. She is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Institute of Living at Hartford Hospital/CCMC. We enjoy spending as much time as possible with our two great kids and entertaining dog. My favorite activities include mountain biking, photography, reading, cooking, hiking, and Red Sox baseball.
